Pocula bina novo spumantia lacte quotannis,
craterasque duo statuam tibi pinguis olivi,
et multo in primis hilarans convivia Baccho,
ante focum, si frigus erit, si messis, in umbra,
vina novom fundam calathis Ariusia nectar.
And every year, I’ll set for you two foaming cups
Of freshest milk, and two large bowls of thick olive oil.
Best of all, to cheer the feast with flowing stirring wine
In winter by the fireside, at harvest in the shade, I’ll fill
Our cups with the nectar of the Arusian wine.
Publius Vergilius Maro / Bucolics / Eclogue V
It’s since a long, long time that grapes and olive groves have been melting together in Garda’s Morainic Hills mild, Mediterranean climate.
Virgil’s Bucolics take place in this idyllic landscape and talks about it through poetical, amazing images.
At SOLIMAGO, over the slopes of the hill, in the little, pretty valley called Bark, since centuries we lovely cultivate grapevines and produce fine, noble wines.
Here they merge the vigour of a territory not subdued by technology with the sweet seasons created by this so special region between Garda Lake, River Mincio and the Hills’s crown separating our fields from the Po Valley.
In this worldwide celebrated microclimate grapevines, together with olive groves and citrus trees, magically find the way to give the best according to their own nature.
We, as human beings, are trying to give sense to flavours coming out from ground’s depth, heaven’s odd moods and sun’s might.
The fruit of this job are our three wines:
SOLE - OMBRA - BARK
Designed to cherish memories and to create desires. |
